The great outdoors
Last week my wife and I took a vacation. We spent 5 full days (along with 2 days worth of driving) in the mountains of Colorado fishing, hiking, reading, relaxing, and generally decompressing.
Going through my day-to-day routine might bring consistency, but it also can wear me down after awhile. Couple that with the stresses of work and the world at large and I’m amazed I don’t have headaches more often. While some of these stresses are self-inflicted (stop letting the dishes pile up, dummy!) others are unavoidable and can take a toll over the course of weeks and months.
If you’re feeling a bit worn out, stressed, or anxious, taking a step away from it for a bit could be the perfect medicine. It’s amazing what a little fresh air and no cell signal will do to a body and mind.
